Interac e-Transfer, Visa, MastercardA live casino in Ontario is a video link to a real table. A dealer in a studio shuffles real cards or spins a real wheel, a camera streams it to your screen, and the software takes your bets in the seconds between rounds. Since the regulated market opened on 4 April 2022, live dealer casinos have become the part of the lobby where brands try hardest to look different from each other, mostly through tables they built for Ontario players alone.
The cards above rank the ten operators we'd pick for live play, each with its studio line-up. This page covers who supplies those tables, which ones you can only find here, and how to keep the stream from stuttering at the worst moment. Every brand named here is registered with the AGCO; the full list lives on our home page.
A round works the same way at almost every table. A timer counts down while you place chips on the screen. Betting closes, the dealer deals or spins, and the result is read by the studio's own system and paid to your balance within seconds. You can chat with the dealer by typing; other players' names usually appear only as initials.
Casino brands don't film their own blackjack. They rent tables from a handful of specialist studios and put their own logo on the lobby. In Ontario, four names cover almost everything:
Why should you care which studio it is? Because the studio decides the table design, the side bets, the speed of the dealer and the minimum bet. Two casinos running the same Evolution table give you the same game; the difference is in the lobby around it and the cashier behind it.

Ezugi is part of the Evolution group, so the two often sit side by side. Ezugi tables tend to be found in the roulette and baccarat rows rather than the game shows.
"Shown on the site" means we couldn't confirm the supplier from a reliable source. The tables exist; open the live lobby and the studio logo is usually in the corner of each game tile.
This is where the regulated market got interesting. Instead of only reselling the same studio tables everyone else has, several operators commissioned their own, with Ontario branding, local sports themes or dedicated dealers.
BetVictor groups a set of live tables under the label "Ontario Exclusives", built with Evolution. Three card poker is one of them. The rules match the standard versions; what changes is that the table is reserved for BetVictor's Ontario players, so it rarely feels crowded.
DraftKings has its own branded tables, and Hockey Blackjack is the one Ontario players talk about. It's regular blackjack in a hockey-themed setting. Gimmick? A little. But a themed table with a friendly dealer is a nicer place to lose twenty dollars than a generic one, and the house edge doesn't change because of the decor.
theScore's owner, PENN, produces its own live originals, and Blue Jays Blackjack is the obvious local hook. You'll find it in theScore Casino's live section and in the standalone casino app.
PlayOJO runs a table called OJO's Exclusive Blackjack. 888casino says it has exclusive live dealer tables but doesn't name them publicly, so we can't tell you what they are until you log in.
One more thing. Exclusive does not mean better odds. It means a different room. Check the rules panel of every table before you sit down, since side bets and payout tables can differ even between two blackjack games from the same studio.
Next to the card tables sits a category that barely existed ten years ago: live game shows. A host spins a giant wheel or runs a board-game round, multipliers drop at random, and hundreds of players bet on the same outcome at once. Evolution's titles, Crazy Time and Monopoly Live among them, are the best-known examples, and most of the big Evolution lobbies in Ontario carry a selection.
They're fun. They're also among the more expensive games on the site in terms of house edge, because the big multipliers are paid for by the many rounds where nothing much happens. Treat a game show like a night out, not a strategy.
Which shows a brand carries changes often, so the lobby is the only reliable list.
We won't print a minimum or maximum bet for each casino, because limits vary by table, by studio and sometimes by time of day. What holds true across the market:
The limit appears on each table's tile in the lobby before you join. If it isn't there, it's in the first screen once you open the game.
Your deposit limit applies to live play like everything else. Set it before your first session, not after a bad hand. Our responsible gambling page explains the tools every Ontario operator has to offer.
We couldn't confirm a French-speaking live table at any of the brands above from sources we trust. Evolution and Playtech produce French-language tables for European markets, but whether an Ontario lobby includes one is a licensing and lobby decision each operator makes separately. If that matters to you, search the live lobby for "français" or "French" and check the table language on the tile before you sit.
Most frustration at live tables has nothing to do with the cards. It's the stream freezing during a betting window. A few habits help:
On phones, live play drains the battery faster than slots, and the app usually gives a larger video window than the browser. Our guide to mobile casinos compares the apps by store rating.
If a round freezes after you've placed a bet, don't panic. The result is decided at the studio, and the outcome and your balance update once you reconnect. Your bet history in the account menu shows every round. If something still looks wrong, contact support with the round ID shown in the history, and keep a screenshot.
If you want the widest choice of standard tables, go with one of the big Evolution lobbies: BetMGM and bet365 both carry large live sections. For something you can't play elsewhere, DraftKings, theScore and BetVictor have the more distinctive Ontario tables. And if your priority is getting winnings out quickly after a good night at the blackjack table, look at our fast payout casinos list before you choose.
Smaller brands from the same publisher as Spin Casino and Royal Vegas run Evolution too, so the tables themselves won't disappoint you; the lobby is just smaller.
